The Fair

So this weekend Kyle and I went to the Del Mar Fair and it was really fun!  We got there around noon and immediately started exploring.  We went into the garden exhibit/building and saw lots of pretty flowers, though I didn't take any pictures.  After that we headed to the Body Exhibit and I highly recommend it!  We saw some incredibly things.  After the Body Exhibit we watched the pig races and the little piglets were so cute!!! There were three races and our section's pig won the last race.
You can barely see our pig (number 2 in purple) in the lead!

We were starting to get thirsty and a tad hungry so we grabbed a giant lemonade and some corndogs.  Both were really good!  We stopped by the animal barn or something along those lines and saw lots of rabbits, some goats, a momma pig and her three piglets, three cows (one of which was the biggest cow I'd ever seen), and chickens.
The adorable baby piggies!

After that we walked around a bit until the friends we were meeting showed up.  On of the guys our friends were with ended up bungee jumping and that was cool to watch.  We went on some rides and grabbed some more food (I can't help it! It all smells so good!) and relaxed some.  When it finally got dark enough we all went on the ferris wheel.  Kyle and I started to get really tired after that so we ended up heading home not long after.  Overall, it was a fun day.
Enjoying the ferris wheel with my fiancé. : )

Oh!!! And on Saturday I got a call saying my ring was ready!!! I was so happy I didn't have to wait until Monday! Can you tell?

First week

So I very much enjoyed my first week of being engaged. :) The overwhelming support for Kyle and myself was amazing.  I am so excited to plan this wedding!  There's not much we can do as far as planning right now because the wedding is planned for 2014, but I did pick out the wedding colors. Cerulean blue, sunflower yellow, and ivory.  I can't wait for the rest!  I've already purchased 2 wedding magazines and am accumulating lots of ideas.

This past week went by very quickly and I didn't do much, but this weekend was fun.  Friday, Kyle and I went to Zales to tell the woman who sold him the engagement ring that he had proposed.  She was very happy. :)  That night we went to go see Prometheus and I really enjoyed it.  Saturday I went over to Kyle's and we went shopping for Father's Day gifts.  That night some of the guys came over and I stayed and socialized until I got sleepy.  Sunday was Father's Day and it was a very relaxing day.  We hung out with my dad at the house and watched golf for a bit. Then we went to Home Depot to look for some stuff for the house, had some lunch, and headed home.  We had tacos for dinner and I made a delicious apple pie for dessert!  One of my friends got married on Sunday as well and from what I've seen of the pictures so far, the wedding was beautiful! Monday (yesterday) was my dad's birthday, but he had to work so we celebrated that evening.  We went out to dinner and came back home to open presents and eat strawberry shortcake (which I also made and was just as delicious as the apple pie).  Overall, it was a good day.  Today (Tuesday) I slept in and it was glorious!  After I got up I had a long talk with my mom about life in general and then we headed to Zales.  I determined I needed to get my ring resized so we did that and shopped around a bit. I got a few tops, a skirt, and a gorgeous ring to wear while mine is off getting resized.   For dinner my family went to Taco Tuesday and saw some old friends and had a wonderful time.

So that sums up my week. :)  Hopefully I have some more exciting tales to tell next time.

Oh!!!! I also got a letter from school today saying I made the Dean's list for Spring 2012!!!! That was super exciting!

Engaged!

This past Friday, June 8th, was my 6 year anniversary with Kyle.  We had planned to go to Sea World and out to a nice dinner on the water in San Diego.  Needless to say, I was very excited!  After what seemed like the longest week ever, Friday morning finally arrived.  On our way to Sea World we made a quick stop at Kyle's sister's apartment to drop off a rose bush/tree and then we were off!

It ended up being the most beautiful day at Sea World!  Not only was the weather beautiful, but everything just seemed to work out.  We went on the new Manta roller coaster and hardly had to wait in line (maybe 15 minutes?), we pet the bat rays, we pet the dolphins (twice!), we rode the Sky Tower ride thing (and didn't wait in line for that either!), we looked at the turtle exhibit, saw the walrus (who was in a very playful mood), the beluga whales, and the polar bear, and finally ended our day at the Cirque de la Mer show (I'd never seen it).  It was the coolest show I'd seen at Sea World.  The only downside to the day was that during the show my back got sunburned (I didn't realized my shirt didn't cover a part of my back).  After wandering the park for a while longer we decided to go back to the condo to put some aloe on my back, take a shower, and then get ready for dinner.

Cooling off

Tired after a day in the sun

At 6:30 we had a cab pick us up from the condo and take us to The Fish Market next to the Midway.  The restaurant is right on the water and where we went for our 3 year anniversary.  We decided this time to eat at their restaurant upstairs (Top of the Market).  Their food is more expensive, but we figured it was our anniversary so we'd go for it.  We requested to sit out on the patio so we'd have great views and they sat us immediately.  Our waiter was amazing and just made the experience that much more enjoyable!  Both our dinners were some of the best we've ever had and dessert was amazing!!
Our amazing view from dinner
The delicious dessert that we couldn't finish...

How handsome is he?! :)

So after our wonderful dinner and dessert we decided to walk the path along the water and take some pictures.  It was really nice because there wasn't really anyone around and we ended up being the only two people on the path we took along the water.  When we reached the trees I commented on how much I liked them and Kyle stopped us.  He hugged me, told me the past 6 years had been absolutely amazing, and that he loved me so much.  He then stepped back, knelt down, opened up the ring box that he somehow had hidden and asked me to marry him. :) I cried, said Yes! and then hugged him like crazy!!!  He finally put the ring on my finger and I couldn't stop smiling.  He even special ordered a ring box with a light in the lid so I would be able to see the ring in the dark!!  Everything about the day and the proposal was perfect and I could not be happier to start planning the rest of our lives together!
Before he proposed

Right after he proposed...I couldn't stop crying and smiling.

As you can see...I'm soooo happy!!!

I cannot stop staring at my ring! It sparkles in any light!

The next morning Kyle and I went out to breakfast and then walked to the spot he proposed so we could take pictures during the day.  :)
The spot he proposed. :)

Still can't stop smiling.

Summer adventures thus far...

Okay, so I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy enjoying the summer and working! I am now employed at Kyle's mom's office as the office assistant and I LOVE it!!! I really enjoy working at a desk and my coworkers are great. :) Having money is also quite wonderful! The first weekend of my summer vacation Kyle and I went down to San Diego and had a lot of fun!  That Friday we met up with his mom, dad, sister (and her roommate and a friend), and Bear for sushi and it was sooo delicious and great to see everyone.  Kyle and I went back to his parents' condo in downtown and we all went to bed.  The next morning Kyle left to go take his aborist (sp?) test for his job (he passed!!!) and I took his parents to the airport to catch their flight to Hawaii.  Once Kyle was back we grabbed the bikes and went looking for a Panda Express to have lunch.  The GPS on the phone took us to the wrong place so we ended up just biking down to Horton Plaza and eating at that Panda Express.  After lunch we headed back to the condo and drove to Balboa Park (we were too tired and hot to bike there).  We didn't want to spend all our money at the museums so we picked one, The Natural History Museum.  It was great! We looked at the Titanic exhibit and it blew me away.  It was so weird to think that all the artifacts there were once at the bottom of the ocean and I got sad thinking about all the people that died.  It was an incredible experience though.  We spent the rest of the afternoon at the museum checking out their other exhibits and then headed back to the condo to get ready for dinner.  We walked to Little Italy and found a restaurant we both liked.  The food was wonderful and the dessert (gelato and strawberry shortcake) came from the restaurant's sister bakery.  After dinner we went back to the condo and watched an episode of America's Got Talent and then went to bed.  The next morning we got up early and met up with Bear (Tom) and a friend of his to go to an outdoor gun range.  I was nervous at first but it ended up being a lot of fun!  From the gun range we went to an Irish pub and grabbed some lunch.  I had mac n' cheese and it was the best I have ever had!! We then walked to Coldstone and had some ice-cream. :)  All-in-all it was a wonderful way to start the summer.  Here are some pictures:
Excited for Balboa Park!

I love him with all my heart.

The week after this I worked and relaxed at home and it was wonderful.  Then that Thursday Kyle had the airsoft guys and myself over as they all got ready for their crazy weekend of airsoft.  We ended up playing Rockband and it was a blast!  The next day, before they all left, we went to Nessy Burger for lunch and just talked and laughed and had a good time.  I didn't do much that Saturday or Sunday but Monday was Memorial Day and my mom's birthday (and it ended up being a beautiful day). For breakfast I made strawberry shortcake and everyone stuffed their faces. ;)  That afternoon we went out to lunch and wine tasting with some of my parents friends and that was a lot of fun.  After that we went over to one of the couple's houses and sat and chatted for a few hours and then headed home for dinner.  I grilled some hotdogs and we had fries and coleslaw for sides.  We sat out on our deck and had a wonderful time. It was a great way to spend the day.  That brings us to this past week and weekend.  I worked on Tuesday and Thursday and relaxed Wednesday.  Friday I hung out with Kyle and we saw Snow White and the Huntsman and I really liked it.  Saturday I hung out with my sister and we also went to the movies, but we saw Men in Black 3 and I really liked that as well too!  Sunday (today) I slept in a bit, tanned by the pool while reading on my Kindle, had some lunch, cleaned my room, did some laundry, met Kyle and the guys at Nessy Burger (which we took back to his house and ate by they pool), and relaxed at my house the rest of the evening.

So that sums up my summer thus far. I will try my best to stick to my once-a-week updates for the rest of the summer. :)  Right now, I'm super excited about my 6 year anniversary with Kyle this Friday, so I'm sure I'll have lots to share of our weekend fun in San Diego.
