Losing weight and this and that

Okay, so aside from posting the daily going-ons of my life, I want to start keeping track of my weight loss.  As I mentioned here a little bit, I am a Weight Watchers (WW) member.  I did really well losing weight on the plan when I followed it last year, but haven't been tracking at all this year and have gained back about 3-4 pounds.  I really need to start putting in the effort again and my wedding seems like good motivation! I want to have an all-around healthier lifestyle, but I think the goal of having lost my weight and getting toned by my wedding day is a good one.  I would ideally like to lose the weight by the New Year and then tone/start the toning process after that.  I would also love if by the time my wedding rolls around, I am capable of running a 5k.  I will try to put up weekly progress reports, including my weight/weight loss for the week and inches from my waist, thigh, bicep, and hips. If I find a workout that works really well for me, I will also post that.  I also added a "ticker" to the right to chart my weight loss.

Day 1:
Weight- 144.4 lbs
Waist- 27 inches
Thigh- 23.5 inches
Bicep- 12 inches
Hips- 36 inches

Life aside from weight loss:

I have been crazy busy with school!!! I'm taking 2 summer classes (5 weeks) and they end this week.  I feel like I've been constantly stressing over the next assignment so I will be very glad when this week is over.

Yesterday, I went to Newport Beach with Kyle and his family and got a little sunburned, not too bad and it's mostly all gone today, but it does hurt a little in places that didn't get sunscreen.

Also, the house hunting is no longer.  After a long discussion, Kyle and I decided to just rent until we're married.  We need to be able to be mobile if either of us gets a great job opportunity so this seemed like a good option.  We also don't want to stay where we are now, so we don't see the point in buying here if we're only going to stay for 2 years, if that.

So I think that catches you up on my life thus far!

Date setting...

So I wish we could just pick a date for the wedding already.  I want to be able to start a countdown and have an end date (or should I say beginning date?) in sight!  The fact that it's in New York and we're not so sure what the weather will be like is making this hard to do.  I really wanted to get married in June of 2014 but too many people are in New York at the family houses to include in the wedding.  Kyle and I are trying to keep it small, but still include all the important people in our lives.  My mom suggested August, which could work and the weather might be more predictable then, but I really did have my heart set on June.  Specifically June 28th.  I just don't know what to do.

Of course, if I'm being completely honest, I really wanted to get married on our anniversary of next year (June 8th, 2013).  On June 8th, 2006 Kyle and I started dating.  On June 8th, 2012 Kyle and I got engaged.  And June 8th, 2013 falls on a Saturday.  I wanted to keep that special date going, but it's just not enough time to plan everything/have guests make travel arrangements. I guess we could do June 8th, 2014 but I don't know if people would go to a destination wedding on a Sunday since that is normally the day people would leave. Any thoughts on this?

This is just frustrating.  Kyle and I have been engaged for a month and a half  and still no date.  I think the next week needs to be devoted to coming up with a date.

P.S.- School has been crazy to allow enough time for a post on my trip to New York, but I promise it's coming!

The Fair

So this weekend Kyle and I went to the Del Mar Fair and it was really fun!  We got there around noon and immediately started exploring.  We went into the garden exhibit/building and saw lots of pretty flowers, though I didn't take any pictures.  After that we headed to the Body Exhibit and I highly recommend it!  We saw some incredibly things.  After the Body Exhibit we watched the pig races and the little piglets were so cute!!! There were three races and our section's pig won the last race.
You can barely see our pig (number 2 in purple) in the lead!

We were starting to get thirsty and a tad hungry so we grabbed a giant lemonade and some corndogs.  Both were really good!  We stopped by the animal barn or something along those lines and saw lots of rabbits, some goats, a momma pig and her three piglets, three cows (one of which was the biggest cow I'd ever seen), and chickens.
The adorable baby piggies!

After that we walked around a bit until the friends we were meeting showed up.  On of the guys our friends were with ended up bungee jumping and that was cool to watch.  We went on some rides and grabbed some more food (I can't help it! It all smells so good!) and relaxed some.  When it finally got dark enough we all went on the ferris wheel.  Kyle and I started to get really tired after that so we ended up heading home not long after.  Overall, it was a fun day.
Enjoying the ferris wheel with my fiancé. : )

Oh!!! And on Saturday I got a call saying my ring was ready!!! I was so happy I didn't have to wait until Monday! Can you tell?

First week

So I very much enjoyed my first week of being engaged. :) The overwhelming support for Kyle and myself was amazing.  I am so excited to plan this wedding!  There's not much we can do as far as planning right now because the wedding is planned for 2014, but I did pick out the wedding colors. Cerulean blue, sunflower yellow, and ivory.  I can't wait for the rest!  I've already purchased 2 wedding magazines and am accumulating lots of ideas.

This past week went by very quickly and I didn't do much, but this weekend was fun.  Friday, Kyle and I went to Zales to tell the woman who sold him the engagement ring that he had proposed.  She was very happy. :)  That night we went to go see Prometheus and I really enjoyed it.  Saturday I went over to Kyle's and we went shopping for Father's Day gifts.  That night some of the guys came over and I stayed and socialized until I got sleepy.  Sunday was Father's Day and it was a very relaxing day.  We hung out with my dad at the house and watched golf for a bit. Then we went to Home Depot to look for some stuff for the house, had some lunch, and headed home.  We had tacos for dinner and I made a delicious apple pie for dessert!  One of my friends got married on Sunday as well and from what I've seen of the pictures so far, the wedding was beautiful! Monday (yesterday) was my dad's birthday, but he had to work so we celebrated that evening.  We went out to dinner and came back home to open presents and eat strawberry shortcake (which I also made and was just as delicious as the apple pie).  Overall, it was a good day.  Today (Tuesday) I slept in and it was glorious!  After I got up I had a long talk with my mom about life in general and then we headed to Zales.  I determined I needed to get my ring resized so we did that and shopped around a bit. I got a few tops, a skirt, and a gorgeous ring to wear while mine is off getting resized.   For dinner my family went to Taco Tuesday and saw some old friends and had a wonderful time.

So that sums up my week. :)  Hopefully I have some more exciting tales to tell next time.

Oh!!!! I also got a letter from school today saying I made the Dean's list for Spring 2012!!!! That was super exciting!

Engaged!

This past Friday, June 8th, was my 6 year anniversary with Kyle.  We had planned to go to Sea World and out to a nice dinner on the water in San Diego.  Needless to say, I was very excited!  After what seemed like the longest week ever, Friday morning finally arrived.  On our way to Sea World we made a quick stop at Kyle's sister's apartment to drop off a rose bush/tree and then we were off!

It ended up being the most beautiful day at Sea World!  Not only was the weather beautiful, but everything just seemed to work out.  We went on the new Manta roller coaster and hardly had to wait in line (maybe 15 minutes?), we pet the bat rays, we pet the dolphins (twice!), we rode the Sky Tower ride thing (and didn't wait in line for that either!), we looked at the turtle exhibit, saw the walrus (who was in a very playful mood), the beluga whales, and the polar bear, and finally ended our day at the Cirque de la Mer show (I'd never seen it).  It was the coolest show I'd seen at Sea World.  The only downside to the day was that during the show my back got sunburned (I didn't realized my shirt didn't cover a part of my back).  After wandering the park for a while longer we decided to go back to the condo to put some aloe on my back, take a shower, and then get ready for dinner.

Cooling off

Tired after a day in the sun

At 6:30 we had a cab pick us up from the condo and take us to The Fish Market next to the Midway.  The restaurant is right on the water and where we went for our 3 year anniversary.  We decided this time to eat at their restaurant upstairs (Top of the Market).  Their food is more expensive, but we figured it was our anniversary so we'd go for it.  We requested to sit out on the patio so we'd have great views and they sat us immediately.  Our waiter was amazing and just made the experience that much more enjoyable!  Both our dinners were some of the best we've ever had and dessert was amazing!!
Our amazing view from dinner
The delicious dessert that we couldn't finish...

How handsome is he?! :)

So after our wonderful dinner and dessert we decided to walk the path along the water and take some pictures.  It was really nice because there wasn't really anyone around and we ended up being the only two people on the path we took along the water.  When we reached the trees I commented on how much I liked them and Kyle stopped us.  He hugged me, told me the past 6 years had been absolutely amazing, and that he loved me so much.  He then stepped back, knelt down, opened up the ring box that he somehow had hidden and asked me to marry him. :) I cried, said Yes! and then hugged him like crazy!!!  He finally put the ring on my finger and I couldn't stop smiling.  He even special ordered a ring box with a light in the lid so I would be able to see the ring in the dark!!  Everything about the day and the proposal was perfect and I could not be happier to start planning the rest of our lives together!
Before he proposed

Right after he proposed...I couldn't stop crying and smiling.

As you can see...I'm soooo happy!!!

I cannot stop staring at my ring! It sparkles in any light!

The next morning Kyle and I went out to breakfast and then walked to the spot he proposed so we could take pictures during the day.  :)
The spot he proposed. :)

Still can't stop smiling.
