Summer adventures thus far...

Okay, so I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy enjoying the summer and working! I am now employed at Kyle's mom's office as the office assistant and I LOVE it!!! I really enjoy working at a desk and my coworkers are great. :) Having money is also quite wonderful! The first weekend of my summer vacation Kyle and I went down to San Diego and had a lot of fun!  That Friday we met up with his mom, dad, sister (and her roommate and a friend), and Bear for sushi and it was sooo delicious and great to see everyone.  Kyle and I went back to his parents' condo in downtown and we all went to bed.  The next morning Kyle left to go take his aborist (sp?) test for his job (he passed!!!) and I took his parents to the airport to catch their flight to Hawaii.  Once Kyle was back we grabbed the bikes and went looking for a Panda Express to have lunch.  The GPS on the phone took us to the wrong place so we ended up just biking down to Horton Plaza and eating at that Panda Express.  After lunch we headed back to the condo and drove to Balboa Park (we were too tired and hot to bike there).  We didn't want to spend all our money at the museums so we picked one, The Natural History Museum.  It was great! We looked at the Titanic exhibit and it blew me away.  It was so weird to think that all the artifacts there were once at the bottom of the ocean and I got sad thinking about all the people that died.  It was an incredible experience though.  We spent the rest of the afternoon at the museum checking out their other exhibits and then headed back to the condo to get ready for dinner.  We walked to Little Italy and found a restaurant we both liked.  The food was wonderful and the dessert (gelato and strawberry shortcake) came from the restaurant's sister bakery.  After dinner we went back to the condo and watched an episode of America's Got Talent and then went to bed.  The next morning we got up early and met up with Bear (Tom) and a friend of his to go to an outdoor gun range.  I was nervous at first but it ended up being a lot of fun!  From the gun range we went to an Irish pub and grabbed some lunch.  I had mac n' cheese and it was the best I have ever had!! We then walked to Coldstone and had some ice-cream. :)  All-in-all it was a wonderful way to start the summer.  Here are some pictures:
Excited for Balboa Park!

I love him with all my heart.

The week after this I worked and relaxed at home and it was wonderful.  Then that Thursday Kyle had the airsoft guys and myself over as they all got ready for their crazy weekend of airsoft.  We ended up playing Rockband and it was a blast!  The next day, before they all left, we went to Nessy Burger for lunch and just talked and laughed and had a good time.  I didn't do much that Saturday or Sunday but Monday was Memorial Day and my mom's birthday (and it ended up being a beautiful day). For breakfast I made strawberry shortcake and everyone stuffed their faces. ;)  That afternoon we went out to lunch and wine tasting with some of my parents friends and that was a lot of fun.  After that we went over to one of the couple's houses and sat and chatted for a few hours and then headed home for dinner.  I grilled some hotdogs and we had fries and coleslaw for sides.  We sat out on our deck and had a wonderful time. It was a great way to spend the day.  That brings us to this past week and weekend.  I worked on Tuesday and Thursday and relaxed Wednesday.  Friday I hung out with Kyle and we saw Snow White and the Huntsman and I really liked it.  Saturday I hung out with my sister and we also went to the movies, but we saw Men in Black 3 and I really liked that as well too!  Sunday (today) I slept in a bit, tanned by the pool while reading on my Kindle, had some lunch, cleaned my room, did some laundry, met Kyle and the guys at Nessy Burger (which we took back to his house and ate by they pool), and relaxed at my house the rest of the evening.

So that sums up my summer thus far. I will try my best to stick to my once-a-week updates for the rest of the summer. :)  Right now, I'm super excited about my 6 year anniversary with Kyle this Friday, so I'm sure I'll have lots to share of our weekend fun in San Diego.

School, school, and more school...

Wow. So I haven't posted in a long time! I have been so incredibly busy with school that I have had no time to do much else!  If I haven't been doing homework, I've been studying for a test or I've been writing a paper, or running a lab experiment, or working on a presentation.  I've never been so busy with regard to school.  This has been the craziest semester but in the end I think I might end up with straight A's again. :)  I am so ready for it to be summer.  The only thing that has really changed in my life recently is that I got a job!! I'm very excited about it.  The only downside is that it's not a lot of hours, but I can't complain because it was offered to me, I didn't go job hunting. I'll be spending this weekend with Kyle and I'll try to take lots of pictures so that I have something for a post next week. :) Yay for summer!

Happenings...

I've been bad lately...school has been crazy and this past week was my spring break so I haven't posted weekly like I promised I would.  Let's see if I can remember everything I've been up to!

Two weeks ago my friends from Arizona came for a visit and it was a ton of fun! The first day they were here we walked to Seaport Village for lunch and some shopping/sight seeing! We had delicious pizza for lunch and took some pictures.
After that we headed to Horton Plaza for a little more shopping. Marie wanted some shirts and Dani wanted some flip-flops.  I am happy to say it was a successful trip!  After that we were all a bit tired so we went back to the condo to relax and get ready for our evening adventure!  We ended up going to Chipotle for dinner and then went downtown to a bar.  The girls had a little too much to drink, but other than that it was a fun night. :)

Saturday we all slept in and then headed to La Jolla to see the seals!  There were so many baby seals!!
This baby seal was only an hour old!

Aside from the seals there were squirrels everywhere and they were very friendly!!
He came up to say hi!
That night we went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner and after waiting an hour and a half (boo!) to be seated the dinner was delicious!!!  There was so much food that we actually all had leftovers and each ordered a slice of cheesecake to go.  We went to a redbox to rent Water for Elephants and watched it back at the condo while eating our cheesecake.  It was a wonderful way to spend their last night here.

The next morning/afternoon we had our leftovers and then cleaned the condo and took fun pictures! It was so fun to have them visit and I hope they come out more!

Duck lips ;)

The week after they left was crazy when it came to school.  I had a test and a large paper due.  I was up late every night and I didn't go to bed until 5:30 in the morning on Friday working on my paper. I drank two monsters to stay up and ended up with an upset stomach for two days because of it.  Thank goodness Friday afternoon was the beginning of my spring break, because boy did I need a break!!  My grandparents came to visit for the week and it was nice to see them but really stressful for my whole family.  My poor sister was kicked out of her room so they could use it and they stayed a whole week.  She slept in our family room. :(

Now, this past weekend was a ton of fun!!! My roommate from my freshman year of college got married and it was wonderful!  Kyle and I drove to Prescott on Friday.  We left at 8ish but after stopping for gas and breakfast didn't really start the drive until 9.  Most of the drive was completely boring (desert) but the last hour or so was beautiful (mountains)! We stopped towards the end in Prescott National Forest to play in the snow and even built a snowman! Poor Kyle almost froze his fingers off in the process though!

After that we finally made it into Prescott!!  We got to Marissa and Frank's place around 3:30 and let me just say, their place is adorable!
The house was in crazy mode with everyone getting ready for the rehearsal and dinner (they had another couple staying with them as well) so there wasn't much time to socialize.  We did however get time to ask where a good place to eat dinner was and was bombarded with recommendations! We settled on The Palace and met up with Marie, Dani, Dani's mom, and Dani's son Landon.  I thought dinner was quite good, but the rest of the table wasn't so thrilled with it.  After dinner Kyle and I were pretty exhausted and went back to Marissa's place to go to bed.

The next day (wedding day!!) Kyle and I went to breakfast at a place called The Apple Pan and it was amazing!!  They had homemade biscuits that were to die for!!  During breakfast Kyle and I had a nice talk about our future and settled some things that put us both at ease and was a great start to our day!  After that we went for a walk along Granite Creek and I took some pictures.
A mural that artists in the town painted depicting the history of Prescott.

Enjoying the beautiful day!
After our wonderful walk we headed back to Marissa's place to pack up our stuff to move to Hotel St. Michael for our second night.  When we got back Marissa had just come back from her hair appointment and she looked fabulous!
Once we got to the hotel we only had enough time to shower and get dressed for the ceremony!  We met up with Marie and Dani outside the hotel and walked together to the theater where the ceremony was taking place.  I didn't really get any good pictures but everyone looked amazing and Marissa was stunning in her wedding dress! Frank and Marissa both wrote their own vows and they were beautiful.  After the ceremony there was a two hour break while pictures were being taken so a group of us went to dinner at Prescott Brewery and it was sooo good!!!  We all headed to the hotel for the reception after that and waited for the happy newlyweds to arrive!  What followed was a wonderful evening spent with friends and I'm so happy I could be there! Here are a few pictures from the night!

The next morning Kyle and I slept until about 10 and it was wonderful!! We checked out and then headed to breakfast.  It was nice because the hotel we stayed at also had a restaurant and when you check in you get a voucher for a free breakfast (eggs, bacon, potatoes, and coffee) or $5 off their other breakfast items.  Kyle had an omelet and I had pancakes and fruit and it was all really really tasty! Thanks to the vouchers it was only $9!  After breakfast we said our goodbyes to Prescott and headed out. Of course, on the way, we stopped to see how our snowman faired over the warm weekend...this was the result.
Needless to say, he was heartbroken...

Our last picture of the weekend.
The drive back was quite long. Longer than the drive there due to crazy wind/sand storms across the desert and then a large rainstorm during the last hour and a half of the drive.  Thankfully, we made it home safely around 7pm.  I dropped Kyle at his place and then headed home to relax!  The weekend was so much fun, but I was so happy to sleep in my own bed again!

Now, it's Monday night and I start school again tomorrow...boo.  Hopefully I'll be better about posting for the rest of the semester, but I can't make any promises if school gets crazy again!  Oh! Our bows (archery) were supposed to be ready on Friday, but the limbs still haven't come in yet.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that by the end of the week we'll have them! I will post pictures once we have them!

Preview...

Oh geez! Haven't posted in a little bit! In my defense though, I've been quite busy! After my last post my friends, Marie and Dani, joined me for a fun weekend in San Diego! And this past week I've been studying and writing papers like crazy! I'm too tired to write much now, so I'll just add some photos as a preview to the exciting weekend I had with Marie and Dani! I'll try to write a post tomorrow about that.

Wedding fever!

It seems as though everyone I know is getting married/is already married!  Because of this I have become a bit wedding obsessed these days.  I love Kyle so much and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.  We've talked about getting married since about 4 months in, but really seriously started talking about it this past year or so.  It might be because of all the craziness right now, but I want so very much to be engaged to Kyle.  I am really looking forward to planning our wedding together and then our lives. : )
